Our Custom Thermoforming Process
1. Tell Us About Your Project
The first step in creating a thermoformed plastic product with Tamarack is to contact our staff. Once we know the details of your project, including the specifications of the part and the number you need, we can provide an estimate on tooling and per-unit costs.
2. We Review the Drawings
After you’ve approved the estimate, we’ll start working with our trusted mold builders to review and make any necessary edits to ensure your part is viable and will meet your expectations. Once that’s finished, we’ll move to the mold design stage.
3. You Review the Samples
In many cases, we’ll need to create a new mold for the product or fit your mold into our machines if one has already been created. Once the first custom thermoformed plastic products are created, we’ll send them to your team for review and approval. This process can take a few months. After we’ve received your sign-off, the mold will be prepared for full production.
4. We Start Production
Once production begins, it typically takes about one to three weeks to create the final product, depending on the order quantity. Then we can ship the products directly to you.
Our Thermoformed Plastic Services
Tamarack has decades of experience providing high-quality thermoformed plastic products that are tailored to the unique needs of our clients. Our roll-fed thermoforming process is known as “form trim stack.” It is ideal for creating thermoformed plastic trays, blisters, lids, clamshells, and other products.
Our equipment can work with plastic sheets with a thickness of up to 0.060, and we can create parts up to 30” x 48”. We can use both male and female molds to create the products using a wide range of sheet plastics, including RPET, PET, HDPE, PP, PVC, and Styrene.
We use high-quality raw materials from vendors that we have long relationships with. Our products also go through a stringent quality control process that includes bend and crush tests as well as other steps before they are eventually approved.
Who We Serve
Custom thermoformed packaging can benefit a wide range of industries and applications. These are some of the most common, though by no means the only, industries we work with.

Agriculture
Seed trays, plant containers, and other agricultural products can be custom-designed through thermoforming to better facilitate the handling of materials and improve logistics.
Commercial Retail
Companies that sell consumer goods such as electronics, cosmetics, toys, and household items can use custom thermoformed packaging to create eye-catching presentations that protect products during shipping and attract customers to retail shelves.
Are Thermoformed Plastic Containers Sustainable?
Tamarack Industries is a thermoforming plastic company that was built with the environment in mind. We strive to offer sustainable products whenever possible, and thermoformed plastic is no different. Our products that use PET, HDPE, or RPET plastics are all recyclable, while RPET is also made from recycled materials.
How Much Does Custom Thermoformed Packaging Cost?
There are a wide range of factors that can affect the price of your thermoformed plastic part, including the cost to create the mold, the number of cavities in the mold, the weight of the product, the materials used, and the number ordered. Our team would be happy to provide an estimate based on your specific product.
